Silk aquatint is a versatile printmaking technique resulting in rich tones and painterly imagery. It is a variation on collagraph, a printmaking technique in which the plate is made through collage of textured materials. This class is ideal for print-curious painters and/or intaglio printmakers looking to find safer and more affordable alternatives to traditional aquatint etching.
This class will introduce participants to the fundamentals of plate preparation, inking and wiping a plate, and printing using an etching press. Each participant will leave with a small edition of their own design. All materials will be provided.
